Hope you all are doing well.
By the way, have you seen Sumire's article about Festival in Ikebukuro?
As you can tell by the pictures, it's pretty big and traditional festival.
At Fukuro festival, they shout "Washhoi wasshoi" when they carry Mikoshi.
One of our cafe staff told me that the phrase they say at festivals are different depending on area.
Tokyo area? "Wasshoi wasshoi"
Osaka area "Soiya soiya"
at a festival of my home town says "Maeda maeda"
at Nebuta matsuri in Aomori says "Rassera Yaayado"
It sounds funny, right?
There are many kinds so it could be interesting just joining festivals and hear the differences.
Although it's already finished for this year, Asakusa "Sanja Matsuri" is near by and it's also pretty big.
Tell us your interesting matsuri experience!
