Let'a experience rice cake pounding with us in 2018!!!!!!!!
Our first event for 2018 is the traditional New Year event of making rice cakes, which is called MOCHITSUKI.
*This event? is only for SAKURA HOUSE/HOSTEL/HOTEL's custemer.
What is Mochi?
Mochi is a traditional food for the Japanese New Year made of glutinous rice,
pounded into paste and molded into shape byhand.
What is traditional Japanese Mochi pounding?
The rice is soaked in water overnight and cooked in traditional wooden steamers.It requires two people to work together-one pounding the Mochiwhile the other turning andwetting the Mochi with water to prevent it from sticking to the mallet.
The Mochi is shaped by hand once the pounding process is complete.
Also,We will go to local chrine for praying to make wishes :)
