Here, at Sakura Hotel Ikebukuro, it's Japan. Ok, I admit it, it's a truism that Ikebukuro in Tokyo actually is in Japan. But think about it: All staff members speak at least 2 languages, there are foreigners among the staff, our guests are mostly foreigners but the Japanese staying like them.

Very near from Ikebukuro city there is the Sugamo neighborhood which is known for its popular shopping street.

There are many shopping streets in Tokyo, although this is particularly lively and somewhat longer than the standard, which allows us to enjoy a nice walk.

Today I would like to present some of the most curious items that you can find on a normal supermarket in Japan.

There is plenty of soft drinks, beverages, ice cream, sweet pastries, chocolates, snacks, etc. and always surprising us with new ones with amazing flavours, here are some examples:

lechesojacola.jpg

Everyone was waiting for this, soy milk with soda Cola flavour. The truth is that I liked a lot!

In Japan there are several well-known brands that produce Soy milk and you can always find this product in the market with different flavors, the most typical as chocolate, banana or strawberry and more special as melon, mango or in this time "Cola".

heladosandiafresa.jpg

In the extensive section of the Frozen we can discovered this little big thing, it is a common brand on the shelves of shops and occasionally launch new flavors, some for limited time only.

This time is with two flavors, "Straberry" and "Melon" but with the particularity of if you eat together the resulting mixture of the two flavors is "Watermelon"!
